Amed’s House Reef is teeming with life at the moment: we’ve been spotting families of ornate ghost pipefish regularly, and a few days ago, this brightly colored Rhinopias (weedy scorpion fish) made his home here (thanks Nina Banks for the picture). Not enough? There have been blue-ringed octopus, too.
Amed might be one of our newer dive centres, but it’s quickly becoming popular with both return guests and new visitors. This week, our dive guides have barely had a ‘dry moment’ and they’ve amazed our fun divers by spottingĀ a huge variety of creatures big and small.
Dive guide Baron, who normally dives with his eyes locked on the sand finding the tiniest of creatures, was lucky enough to find a huge Mola-Mola at Seraya Secret just yesterday.
In the meantime, Olivier and Darren managed to pack a lot into their diving holiday: starting off with a Refresher with instructor AV, they decided to add the PADI Nitrox Speciality to their qualifications, before heading off for fun dives with dive guide Bayu. They continued to dive on Nitrox to make the most of their time underwater.
We’ve had honeymooners holiday with us, too and our resort partner Surya Rainbow Villas made sure they feel especially welcome!
Our instructors have been busy introducing a group of Indian students to the underwater world – for some it was their first time in the ocean ever and quite a special experience. At the same time, Jess, who recently finished her instructor course with us in Lembongan, added a Sidemout diver qualification to her credentials and enjoyed a couple of great qualification dives on the USAT Liberty shipwreck – it’s all things go in Amed!
