“Baaby Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo….” Okay – we don’t want to drive you crazy with any more of that tune but we do need to tell you about the amazing shark sightings we have been having at Two Fish Amed resort on Bali!
Sharks in Amed This Week…
The sharks are back in force in Amed! During the last two days, an adult and a baby white tip reef shark were spotted by our guests Daniela, Dirk and Daan and our DMT Caroline at our dive sites Liberty and Pyramids.
Another shark, this time a black tip reef shark was spotted at Deep Blue. Deep Blue is a beautiful sloping reef with a long plateau starting at 15 meters, it’s always teeming with life and offers great conditions for beginners and experienced divers alike. Deep Blue is our newest dive site, located near the Japanese Wreck, about 15 minutes by boat from our resort..
Reef sharks in Amed are not a rare sighting – especially right now, but a shark sighting is always a special occasion. Reef sharks are beautiful creatures, growing only up to about 1.5m in length and they are harmless to humans. White tips are naturally curious and may come and investigate divers and snorkelers which makes for great encounters. Blacktip reef sharks in Amed (and in general) are a bit more skittish and shy by nature and tend to swim away when approached.
Luckily for us, reef sharks have strong site fidelity, meaning that they usually tend to stay in the same area for months or even years so chances are good that we will see them again.
