Our new Tec50 student Karsten got the opportunity to put his newly learned theory into practise with a series of deep dives after certification. He was lucky enough to be joined by Peter who is already an experienced tech diver from Hong Kong, Peter joined him on his course deep dives and then they got to buddy up and do some real tech diving together.

Though Karsten started out a little overwhelmed by all the theory, he left us a very solid tech diver, though being German he maybe found it a little difficult to adopt a flexible approach to his decompression schedule. Too many trains running on time over there I think!

Karsten and Peter had a week of immaculate conditions, despite my cautious briefings telling them to be careful of up and down drafts; so I was quite glad that during a recreational dive we had a barrel roll on a point. Very entertaining watching 6 eagle rays gracefully playing in formation underneath us whilst Peter in Sidemount was flapping like laundry in the wind! A good weeks diving guys.
