The reefs around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida are famous for Manta and Mola- Mola sightings during high season, but here at Two Fish Lembongan we think we should add another pelagic we saw a few times last week, Thresher Sharks.
Sven from Germany dived with us 4 years ago but last week he saw a Thresher Shark for the first time with us! This amazing shark species was swinging his long tail around the crystal clear waters of Sental, one of the dive sites of the amazing northern reefs of Nusa Penida.
Two days ago Marie, our new divemaster trainee found another of these gentle giants in the middle of Crystal Bay during her deep specialty course with our instructor Valerii.
Due to other confirmed sightings of Thresher Sharks, we can say: The Thresher Sharks have arrived!! Usually, they stay here until the end of October so we hope to find them occasionally again during the next weeks.
But there were not only thresher sharks around last week. The tide allowed some early morning dives at Blue Corner to find Mola- Molas, Marble Rays, Wobbegong Sharks and even a Bamboo Shark. So we were really happy to take a big group of 12 Danish divers from our partner agent Kingfish to Blue Corner and they were all lucky, they found the Mola!
Also Veerle, Nel and Hans from Denmark and Gabor from Hungary were really happy to see all they had on the list for this amazing trip to Lembongan.
Besides all this big fish action we were happy to sign off Yan Zhu and Andrew from Australia as certified PADI Open Water Divers. They both were fantastic underwater and it was really enjoyable to teach them.
Do you want to join us to find not only mantas and Mola- Molas but also Thresher Sharks or even a Hammerhead Shark if you’re really lucky?
