This week in TEC …. we were visited by Valerie from Australia who started training for cave diving in Bunaken! Valerie was bitten by the Tech bug after she visited the Oztech dive show and bought a Sidemount wing and reg set. She has her sights set on getting her cave qualifications later this year in Thailand, and visited us in Bunaken for her initial Tech certs.

While she was with us, Valerie did the TDI Introduction to Tech and TDI Advanced Nitrox courses, starting off on twinsets and ending on her Sidemount configuration. It was a tough week, but Valerie was a fighter
and would not give up and ended the week very confident with her Sidemount configuration with an additional stage tank, knowing she could handle anything that was thrown at her.

After leaving us, her holiday continued with some fun diving at Two Fish Divers Lembeh; where rumour has it that she is using her Sidemount wing with a single tank backmounted.
