Turtle power and Mr Bean on first aid

Welcome to our Weekly Roundup! Last week we had porcelain crabs, cuttlefish, turtle power, rebreather diving, and Mr Bean on first aid.

In Bunaken we have been spotting Porcelain crabs during our dives; in Lembeh we have been seeing the flashy flamboyant cuttlefish on numerous dive sites; in Lembongan we have had turtle power as we have had at least 1 turtle on every dive this week; Tec has been busy in Bunaken with Gas blender courses, pool try-outs and guests on rebreathers; and in our DMTs we say goodbye to Holger, more news from Isabelle in Bunaken and help to Pia in Lembongan.

This Week in Two Fish
Porcelain Crabs, Narcosis and Trash in Bunaken This week on Bunaken … Spotting Porcelain crabs during a dive. These brightly coloured and patternated elusive crustaceans measuring upto 2cm can usually be found seeking shelter between the tentacles or the underside of sea anemones. Like the clown fish that live among the anemones the porcelain crab employs the same method to avoid being stung, coating itself in the anemone mucus tricking it into thinking its is part of itself.

Flashy Flamboyant Cuttlefish in Lembeh This week on Lembeh … we have been seeing the flashy flamboyant cuttlefish on numerous dive sites. Enough to a point where some photographers no longer turn on their cameras for them. That’s saying something!

Turtle Power in Lembongan This week in Lembongan … The waters have been full of turtle power, with at least 1 turtle on every dive this week! Divers have had to choice whether to look at the manta rays feeding or the swimming turtles.

CCR, TEC Try-outs & Gas blender courses in Bunaken This week in tec … Tec has been busy, TDI Gas blender, Tec try-out in the pool, TDI Air Diluent CCR and we welcome Sonia for fun diving on her brand new JJ CCR. Our PADI Divemaster trainees receive a tec try-out as part of their internship and during this session we then different configurations to go underwater. So our DMT Holger, Isabel and Instructor Luke got to try Twin-set, Sidemount, and Closed Circuit Rebreather.

GOPro This Week In Bunaken we say goodbye to Holger who finished his DM course, but Isabelle is still learning, and this week she had DSD, mapping and back back. Meanwhile in Lembongan we welcome Pia who came as a fun diving guest and decided to do her DM course with us after 1 day! Read what she thinks about Two Fish, The Right Choice.
