After my first day of diving at Two Fish Divers Lembongan, I walked up to Laurent, the resort manager and told him that I am interested in doing my divemaster course with Two Fish.

The last few years I have dived a few different places. From each place I’ve been, I have learned something new about diving and got an insight of how different dive shops can be. During that time, I have observed ways of doing things that I thought were really good and ways that I really wanted to avoid. So when it came to picking a place to do my divemaster course, I wanted to be sure that I picked a place with good ways of doing things.

Before arriving I had done a bit of research and already, from the website, I had a good impression of Two Fish. But I didn’t book the course, I wanted to experience the place first. The dive centre didn’t disappoint.

What I observed the first few days was a friendly and informative group of staff, professional and a dive resort that is environmentally aware. As a part of their arrival briefing, they encouraged us to go and hear the talks at Aquatic Alliance, which happen twice a week. It is well worth it if you are in Lembongan. So after a few dives, I was sure I had found the place to do my divemaster course.

Now a week has passed, since I started and I have already learned a lot. I look forward to what the next week will bring.

So what have I been up to this week?

I have had many early morning starts carrying tanks and gear bags. I have finished my Emergency First Responder course. I have jumped in the pool and practiced my skills, Assisted on an Open Water course, followed the dive guides on a special day trip to Tulamben and I have been reading lots of my divemaster manual!
