This week in Lembeh we have been living up to our name with not one, but two of everything from our guest critter wish list! Some times we joke when people ask “Why the name Two Fish Divers” and we reply “Because we guarantee to show you at least two fish on every dive”! This is not the real idea behind the name but it is true this week 😉
Cecile wished for Hairy Frogfish; she got two! Jo & Paul wished for a Velvet Ghost Pipefish; they got two (well, actually they got three)! Brian wished for Harlequin Shrimp and we found him two! Jo also went from one tank to two when she tried diving with the sidemount configuration on the house reef with Dani.
Lots of other fun stuff to be had this week in the Strait with Wunderpus, Mimic, Coconut, Blue Ringed and Mototi Octopus. Ghost Pipefish have been abundant with Robust, Delicate, Ornate and Velvet varieties seen by all. Loads of Flamboyant Cuttlefish, Pygmy Seahorses, the Lembeh Velvet Fish, Tiger Shrimps, many Frogfish spotted including Painted, Giant and Clown (as well as the two Hairies!), Ambon Scorpionfish, Pegasus Seamoths, Boxer Crabs and many more!
We’ve got some milestones coming up this week with our guests Gordon and Jessica approaching the big 500!
We also made another Dive Against Debris hauling in 72 kilos of trash, keep an eye out for the next blog for that report.
