This week in Lembongan… This photo was brought to us by one of our guests wanting help to identify it. The guides, who are normally great at identifying these unusual creatures, didn’t know this time. Does anybody know what this creature is?It sat inside the sandy bottom, with all its tentacles moving, scanning the sand. As the diver approached the creature, it would suck itself back into the hole it had emerged from. The diver paused herself, waiting for the creature to rise from it’s hidden home, so she would be able to click a clear photo. She was able to witness the tentacles reaching out of the hole first and slowly pulling the remainder of the creature’s body from its submergence. The disappearance and reappearance was similar to that of a tube worm but not as fast. Is this some tube worms evil brother??
Last week we had Bram and Helene diving with us. This week we have had Bram’s parents diving here. Marleen and Huub have had some great dives in the area, with dive guide Rendy, showing as many amazing creatures as he could find. They, like Bram, had the chance to dive with the manta rays at manta bay. Sadly the wind and waves were not in their favor today and they were unable to dive at manta point. They still had some great dives today for their last day.
