Did you know that we make a US$10 donation for every PADI course that you do with us at all three of our locations? In April 2013 we signed up to the Project Aware 100% program, this made us one of the few dive centres in Indonesia that makes a donation for 100% of the PADI courses that it runs. In fact there are only 200 centres around the world that are 100% Aware, therefore we are in a very special group!
Are there any extra costs?
There is no additional cost to our guests. We have not increased the price of the courses as we believe that it is our responsibility to lead the way to protect our oceans. The oceans are our future, without them we have no fish, no reefs, no divers and no income. Our aim is to make you future donators to Project Aware, in this way you will be protecting the future of both Two Fish Divers and our oceans!!
What does this mean to our guests?
These donations are made direct to Project Aware, and make a big difference by contributing vital funds to protect the ocean planet. Ongoing contributions support projects including:
- Marine Debris Prevention: collecting data and removing devastating debris worldwide while tackling policy efforts to address long-term solutions.
- Shark and Ray Protection: securing protection for the world’s most vulnerable shark and ray species. Together, we’re strengthening shark finning bans, manta ray gill bans and closing policy loopholes in countries that matter most.
Our guests will also receive special limited edition Project Aware PADI certification cards with a hammerhead shark or manta ray, which stand out from the traditional cards held by others.
What is 100% Aware?
Launched in late 2011 by project Aware, 100% Aware is a voluntary program that encourages PADI dive centres around the world to promote the work of Project AWARE, a non-profit organisation that relies on financial support from environmentally concerned divers. All funds raised by the organisation go towards collecting and removing devastating underwater debris worldwide, securing protection for the world’s threatened shark species, and engaging people in conservation efforts world globally.
Many dive professionals support ocean protection, but 100% AWARE dive centres and instructors have a special commitment. They partner directly with Project AWARE to support a clean, healthy ocean planet by making a donation for each certification onbehalf of their dive students.
