I can’t believe I’m already in week three of my Divemaster course. So far, things have been going well and I only realised a whole week was over, when the instructors told me I should take a day off. Yes there are days off!
Well, to be fair, on my day off I ended up coming into the dive centre to pick something up. As luck would have it, a guest had just signed up for a refresher, so guess where I went? Straight into the pool to help out with that. And it would have been silly to say no to the fun dive straight after.
I’ve passed my first in-water skills test – floating for 15 minutes – this week. There are four more swims to come, and I notice that time is running away a bit. Inf act, over the past week I spent so much time practicing skills that my hair has turned a bit green because of the chlorine. I’m sure the last few days on the boat in the sun are making up for that.
I did get really tired and a little freaked out a few days ago, though. Another day off has helped with that. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still enjoying every day, but I do wish I’d given myself a bit more time. Not going to happen, however, because I’ve got my sights set on the IDC in a few weeks. Gotta go, more reading to be done!
