This week in Lembongan … we would like to welcome our new managers, Nat & Sandra. Read their own words below!
Hello! My name is Nat Rawson, and together with my wife Sandra Bruckmann, we are the new managers of Two Fish Divers on Nusa Lembongan.
First, a quick introduction. I grew up in New York City and Connecticut, but got the travel bug pretty early on. I have lived in Austria (where I learned passable German) and England (where I learned to drive on the left). In 2011 I left office life behind and moved to Thailand to follow my dream of becoming a dive instructor and haven’t looked back.
Sandra was born in Cologne, Germany and also lived for a time in Paris (where she learned more than passable French). Before moving to Asia to become a dive instructor she had a successful career in Public Relations and Marketing. Sandra has a talent for languages and design as well as being a great dive instructor, but I am hopelessly biased. We have been married since 2014 and last year we lived and worked on the beautiful island of Bunaken. We are excited about starting a new chapter in 2017 with Two Fish on Lembongan and look forward to welcoming you in person!
January is the quiet season on Lembongan and that has give Sandra, the staff and I a chance to work on projects to improve the resort and the diving operations while getting to know each other. Painting, cleaning, even building has been going this week as we prepare day by day for the busy times in summer. The staff has been great, making us feel welcome and part of the team as we learn the ropes.
We have even had our first friends come and visit. The moment Thomas and Elif heard we got the jobs on Lembongan the said, “we’re coming!” The weather had prevented us from going to the manta sites the previous few days and yesterday was the last chance for them to see Lembongan’s most famous residents. Luckily the weather co-operated and almost from the first moment we jumped in the water the mantas were there. It was pretty special getting back on the boat and seeing our friends smiling faces. There are no promises when it comes to the weather or the animals in the sea, which makes it all the more amazing when everything works out so well.
If you have any questions about getting to Lembongan, the diving here, or anything else please feel free to contact us. We would be happy to hear from you.
All the best from Nusa Lembongan,
Nat & Sandra
