NEWS!! Whale Shark Sighting!!
Our lucky divers at Two Fish Lembongan got a belated Christmas present this week. We were a few minutes into our first morning dive in Sental, off the northern coast of Nusa Penida, when a whale shark decided to come over and give us some seasonal greetings.
The whale shark is the largest known fish to roam around our oceans. They are thought to live up to 100 years, and they range from 5 metres when they are juvenile up to 12 metres when they are adults, although the largest whale shark ever spotted measured up 18 metres! Quite an astonishing fact for these sharks which eat almost exclusively plankton and small fish.
Every time we jump on our dive boat and head to the north of Nusa Penida we know we are going to find beautiful corals and an explosion of marine life, but special sightings like the whale shark we saw this week make us even more excited to go diving there. You just never know what you will find!
In other news from our Nusa Lembongan Dive Resort this week Arthur, Frances, Hugh, and Hamisch Lane completed their PADI Open Water Course with our instructors Tom and Ming – that’s a whole happy family of divers ready to explore our Ocean Planet! Pragya and Rohit got their Scuba Diver Certifications with Rosa, and Keith got his Open Water Certification also with Rosa. Nyasha and Matthew flew over from Thailand to complete their Open Water Course too with our instructor Tom. Congrats to all new divers and we hope to see you all underwater again soon!
