This week in Lembongan… We know we are becoming repetitive! But seeing a whale shark again just a week after spotting one, is just a big deal for us. This time some of the divers were lucky enough to see it during their dive on the north coast of Nusa Penida. And it was a much bigger specimen than the one that has been spotted last week.
This week has been busy with many fun diving in Nusa Lembongan enjoying the dive sites of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. We had two full boats going out almost every day. On the boat were also two of our younger students who did their PADI Junior Open Water Course to be able to join their parents on some underwater adventures.
With things getting busier it is time to get everything ready for high season. We had two new guides arrive from Bunaken, so a big welcome to Ferry and Faldo. So the next few weeks they will be joining our experienced guides to get to know the sites around our three islands. They will have to get familiar with the sometimes strong currents and also have to get use to the colder waters.
At the same time we had to say goodbye to Andy who was in Lembongan for the last two years, he moved to our partner center “Divezone” in Lombok. Instead of looking for mantas and molas he will have to get his eyes ready to look for hammerhead sharks. He is joined by Rein, who was in Lembongan last high season and before that in Lembeh for a long time.
Our sea horse in Crystal Bay has been joined by an ornate ghost pipefish, turtles have been regularly sighted, blue fin trevally have been seen hunting and many other small and big creatures have visited our waters to the delight of the divers.
Is this you with the shark son
