Prerequisites:

  • Minimum 10 years old;
  • Be able to float in the water for 10mins, and be able to swim 200m or snorkel 300m;
  • Complete the PADI medical statement, you can download this here.

We realise that this is all new for beginner divers, so in order to make the learning process easy and carefree for beginners, and as as part of our commitment to dive education, we provide free insurance worth more than US$10 to all beginners learning to dive with us for FREE (part of the course price).

COURSE DETAILS

PADI Open Water Course on Bunaken Island Details

The schedule for your course is quite flexible, and will depend on your comfort level and progress. It will involve mixing up three aspects of your learning – theory, pool sessions and Open Water Dives.

Once you pay your deposit we will send you the online manual, giving you the option to complete the Knowledge Reviews and Quizzes before you arrive.

This consists of watching the PADI Open Water Diver video’s, completing some knowledge reviews, taking some quizzes and passing a final exam.
There are 5 pool sessions that will ease you into the fundamentals of diving, from your first breaths under water until planning and diving your own mini dive. You will learn essential scuba skills that will prepare you adequately for your open water dives.
There are 4 Open Water Dives, at the beginning of each one you will redo some of the scuba skills that you learnt in the pool. After the skills its just fun-diving on the dive site to practice your diving skills and enjoy the beauty of the dive site. Our daily diving schedule is to depart about 8am for 2 dives, and return for lunch. Snacks, water & coffee/tea are provided during the surface interval.
You will finish off every day by logging any dives with your instructor, and reviewing the sightings in our fish-id books. Beers and cocktails are also readily available after your diving!

PADI eLEARNING

Full PADI eLearning Option

Instead of completing the theory using the videos and online manual, we can provide the full PADI eLearning option – this still involves the manual and knowledge reviews etc, but is created as a more integrated learning option. There will be an extra cost for this and you will still need 3 days to finish the course once you are here. Please contact us for more information.
