PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Amed
We are an award winning PADI 5 Star Center in Amed, and we provide the full range of PADI dive courses in Amed including the Introduction Dives, also known as PADI Discover Scuba Diving.
This course will let you experience scuba diving over 1 day with ocean 2 dives so it’s perfect for those who have wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a full certification course or do not have the time.

Course price includes:
- PADI Discover Scuba Diving in Amed over 1-1.5 days (see schedule below);
- 1 pool/confined training session AND 2 open water dives;
- PADI Discover Scuba Course leaflet;
- All scuba equipment;
- Diving insurance;
- Two Fish Divers dive log book;
- Unlimited coffee & tea at the dive center.
- Free flow refillable drinking water – bring a refillable water bottle so that you stay hydrated AND help to keep the island plastic-free.
Prerequisites:
- minimum 10 years old
- complete a PADI medical statement, you can download this here

PADI Discover Scuba Diving In Amed schedule
sign-up & equipment
Arrive at the dive center at 8am on the day to fill out paper-work, and get sized for dive equipment. Your instructor will also go through some basic dice theory with you.
Pool training
After your theory you will undertake the pool training session, here you will learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water, learn some basic scuba skills and learn the basic safety rules.
Diving
Now it is time to have 1 or 2 dives with your PADI Instructor at a real dive site to explore the underwater world!
Depending on conditions we normally conduct DSD training dives either at Ghost Bay (in front of our centre), in Jemeluk Bay or at the USAT Liberty ship wreck. All of these sites are great for beginners with loads of fish and coral life.
After 2 dives you’ll normally arrive back at the centre around 1pm. If you’d like to be back earlier, or just spread the program over 2 days for more fun we recommend doing the pool session / theory the afternoon before. Either way is fine!
finish your diving day
After diving you will finish off your day by logging your dives with your instructor, reviewing the sightings in our fish-id books, and deciding if you want to do more!!
Beers and cocktails are also readily available after your diving!
