Welcome to Snorkeling in Bunaken
If you want to experience snorkeling in Bunaken then you have come to the right place to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and amazing underwater life on your doorstep. We are based on Bunaken Island where the snorkeling is only 5-minutes away.
We have a few different options for snorkelers:
- Snorkel from the beach directly in front of our resort, good for snorkelers who are comfortable in the water already. We can rent you snorkel equipment if you do not have any, and if you want you can take one of our snorkel guides with you for a small fee
- Snorkel from our dive boat, allows our boat staff to keep a watch out for you and allows you to reach sites that are further away.
- Rent your own boat for half-day, allows you to visit 4 or 5 different snorkeling sites around Bunaken and Siladen Island.
- Take an early morning Dolphin Tour, a special experience around Bunaken Marine Park where you can see groups of up to 200 dolphins! You can’t snorkel with them but you can stop off for a snorkel on the way.

Option #1 - Snorkelling from the beach
Just 50m swim from our beach you will find our beautiful house reef. Here you will see lots of different types of soft and hard coral, parrot fish, butterflyfish, unicorn fish, moray eels, turtles and more.
The tides and currents are constantly changing here so our staff will check the conditions are safe before you head out.
Option #2: Snorkeling with the dive boat
Snorkeling from the boat means our staff can look after your safety. If there is a current or you get tired/cold our dive boat will come and pick you up. On the dive boat there is fruit, cookies, tea and coffee provided. Life jackets are available on request. You can request a private snorkel guide to give you a tour and make it extra fun!!
The dive boat goers out twice per day that you can join:
- Morning trip 2 sites (8am-12:30pm)
- Afternoon Trip 1 site (2:30pm-4pm)
Option #3: Private Snorkel Boat
Rent a private boat for half-day (Morning or Afternoon) to visit a few of the snorkeling sites around Bunaken and Siladen Island.
When you want the boat to go to the next site just jump on the boat and our captain will take you there.
On the boat there will be fruit, cookies, tea and coffee. You can request a private snorkel guide to give you a tour and make it extra fun!!
Option #4: Dolphin Tour with snorkelling
Our Dolphin Tours are 6am-10.30am. The early start is because Dolphins are more active in the area early in the morning.
In Bunaken the Dolphins are wild so we can’t get into the water with them, but they do like to ride and play in front of the boat which is a magical sight. Sometimes spinner dolphins can also be seen travelling in schools of 200 individuals, another magical sight!
Please note that the Dolphins are not guaranteed but our captain and crew will do their best to find them for you. After searching for Dolphins you can enjoy snorkeling a few sites around Bunaken and Siladen Island.

I had a great time with Two Fish. I got my AOW with Colin and I have nothing but good things to say. They’re health and safety protocols above water were just as good as they are below water. More about Snorkeling in Bunaken
Bunaken Marine Park has an amazing diversity of fish and coral life. You are bound to see some green and hawksbill turtles as they often come up to the surface to breathe. Other marine life you might see are parrotfish, pufferfish, batfish, butterfly fish, snapper, box fish, clown/anemonefish and trumpet fish.
The water here is clear, blue and between 28-30C at the surface most of the time. The reefs are shallow (1-5m) on top of the wall and sometimes you can see all the way down to where the divers are. If you are lucky you may even see an eagle ray or reef shark from the surface.
Some of our Favourite snorkeling spots around Bunaken are Fukui, Lekuan sites, Tanjung, Tanjung Parigi, Bunaken Timur, Muka Two Fish and Siladen.
