Getting to and from Nusa Penida

We are a PADI 5 Star Dive Center on Nusa Penida and can help you arrange transfers to and from the island.

How to get there?

International flights to Bali

Bali Ngurah Rai, otherwise known as Denpasar (DPS) is a large international airport with daily flights from over 30 international destinations, including Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Dubai, Amsterdam, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur and many cities in Australia. You can also take a flight from Bali to connect with international flights through Jakarta Soekarno-Hatto airport (CGK) which is the 8th busiest airport in the world and has international departures to even more cities including London, Paris, Doha and Tokyo.

Domestic flights to bali

Denpasar also services domestic flights from all over Indonesia, including direct flights from Manado, Lombok and Jakarta. You can also fly to or from almost anywhere in Indonesia using connecting flights. The main internal carriers are Lion Air and Garuda, the national airline of Indonesia.

Flights from Manado to Bali

There are daily direct Lion Air flights between Manado and Bali, allowing you to easily have a dive-combo between the locations:

  • Manado-Bali: departs Manado at 06.45 and arrives 10.30am
  • Bali-Manado: departs Bali at 18.30 and arrives Manado 22.30pm

Flight time is approximately three hours and a one way ticket should cost approximately IDR1,500,000.

Transfers to/from Penida

Nusa Penida is a 45-60 minute ride by fast boat from the harbour in Sanur.

If you are arriving into the airport, there are many options for taxi’s and online drivers, and we can also  arrange an airport pickup/ transfer from your flight if you wish.

If you are coming from the East of Bali (Amed area) then we use Gangga Express, a fast boat company in Kusamba. This is easier than travelling all the way to Sanur and the crossing to the island is a little shorter also.

Fast boat Sanur to Penida

There are many regular scheduled boats that make the 45-60 minute journey between Bali and Nusa Penida using fast-boats. We recommend Idola Express to/from the village of Sampalan on Nusa Penida, it is a 60min boat ride and a 5-min car-ride to our dive center.

Idola Express (60min boat ride/5min to & from dive center)

  • Sanur to Penida: 8.15am, 2pm
  • Penida to Sanur: 1pm, 4:30pm

There are also options to transfer to/from other villages, these are longer transfer times to/form our dive center but allow additional flexibity with departure times. We recommend Semabu Hills to/from the village of Toya Pakeh on Nusa Penida, it is a 45-min boat ride and a 25-min car-ride to our dive center.

Semabu Hills (45min boat ride/25min to & from dive center)
