Staying on Nusa Lembongan/Penida?
From our PADI 5 Star Dive Resort based on Nusa Lembongan, we run the PADI Advanced Open Water Course, the most popular scuba diving course in the world.
Why do the PADI Advanced Open Water Course with us?
The PADI Advanced Open Water Course opens up more diving possibilities, enhances your skills, and once you are certified you can dive deeper to 30m/100ft giving you access to a wider variety of dive sites and marine life. There are many sea creatures that you can’t see at shallower depths, and wrecks are often found deeper than the 18m/60ft maximum your Open Water Certification allows you to go.
If you want to go pro, you can then go on further to complete your Rescue, Dive Master and Instructor certifications!
What about Lembongan/Penida? Nusa Lembongan/Nusa Penida is home of the manta’s and mola-mola that made diving in Bali famous, and we can just-about guarantee that you’ll see some on one of your course dives!

PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences. They’re what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course. The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving. We run the course in all our locations, this means that you can improve your dive skills whilst diving in the top dive locations in Indonesia.
You’ll hone your skills by completing five adventure dives, each giving you knowledge and skills of a particular area that vary in accordance with your interests. These skills will include an introduction to the practical aspects of deep diving, physiological effects of deeper scuba diving, using the underwater compass, how to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time, how to better use your dive computer and a lot more, depending on the Adventure Dives you will choose.
It is mandatory that you do the adventure dives for Underwater Navigator and Deep Diver, and you can choose three others. See below for a brief description of the main Adventure Dives that we teach.
Deep Diver – mandatory training dive. During your Deep Dive, you’ll cover the knowledge, skills and techniques needed to dive deep to 30m.
Underwater Navigation – mandatory training dive. During your Underwater Dive you’ll go on to familiarise yourself with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of underwater navigation.
Wreck Diver. During your Wreck Dive you’ll go to our local ship wreck which is a 65m cargo ship that sunk over 50 years ago. You’ll develop your knowledge and techniques for wreck dives.
Night Diver. During your Night Dive you’ll go to one of our dive sites. You’ll learn to prepare for night dive activities and develop your knowledge and techniques for night diving.
Multilevel Diver. During your Multilevel Dive you’ll learn about the importance of multilevel diving, and you will be exposed to a variety of different types of multilevel dive calculators (the Wheel and various types of dive computers).
Underwater Digital Photography. During your Underwater Photography Dive you’ll use our digital camera, and put in to practice the tips and techniques you learned from your instructor and the PADI Digital Underwater Photography Manual. You will take away with you a CD with the images that you took underwater so you can share the thrill of diving with friends and family.
Underwater Naturalist. During your Underwater Naturalist Dive we will introduce you to different aquatic life and include an overview of responsible human interactions with aquatic life. Bunaken Island is a great place for this. It is known as one of the most diverse marine environments in the world – there is more than 2,000 species of fish and 400 species of corals, this is more than 70% of the know species in the world!
Peak Performance Buoyancy. During this dive you will learn Peak Performance Buoyancy fundamentals. It is an ideal opportunity to polish buoyancy control beyond the Open Water Diver level, and for most people this is the dive that improves their diving the most.
To take this course, you must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification of the same level from another training organization) and you must be at least 15 years old (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)
The Fun Part – Your Choice.
One reason you’ll love the Advanced Open Water Diver course is that you and your instructor choose from 15 types of Adventure Dives to complete your course. You can try your hand at digital underwater photography, wreck diving and drift diving, underwater videography, peak performance buoyancy and much more.
The Scuba Gear You Will Use
You will use all the basic scuba gear including your underwater compass. Depending on which three adventure dives you pick, you may also try out underwater photography equipment, a dive light or lift bags.
The Learning Materials You Will Need
PADI’s Adventures in Diving Manual provides information on more than 16 types of specialty diving. You’ll use it as a guidebook to improve your diving skills and prepare for new experiences and adventures. For example if night diving is one of your choices you will flip to the night diving chapter. Once you’ve read the pages, previewed the skills and answered the knowledge review your instructor will guide you on your first night diving adventure.
What does the schedule look like?
We can do the 5 course adventure dives over 2/3 days. For each adventure dive there is a chapter to read from your course manual, a knowledge review and then the dive.
ADVENTURE DIVER COURSE
You can choose what you’re most interested in learning. Need to work on your buoyancy skills? Try the Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive. Want to know what you’re looking at down there? Try the AWARE-Fish Identification Adventure Dive.
The Scuba Gear You Will Use
You will use all the basic scuba gear including your underwater compass. Depending on which three adventure dives you pick, you may also try out underwater photography equipment, a dive light or lift bags.

Ultimate Flexibility with Advanced Open Water with eLearning
With eLearning all the theory can be done online at www.PADI.com before you get here, this allows you to take your time to do the theory at home (days or weeks or months), and you will get more time for fun diving/relaxing when you are here.
What does the schedule look like?
Since all the theory will have been completed by the time you get here, you just need to conduct the five course Adventure Dives. These can be done over 2/3 days, or mixed with fun dives during the time that you are here. Two of these are mandatory; the Deep Adventure Dive and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive. The other three dives that you complete can be chosen from a wide range of Adventure Dives, we recommend Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Photo and Wreck.
Excellent material. Never thought it would be such a convenient way of learning.
Register for Advanced Open Water with e-Learning
To start eLearning, you need to register by clicking on the eLearning banner above, this will take you to our page on www.PADI.com. When you register for the first time, there will be a registration fee of USD120 payable to PADI with your credit card (we refund part of this registration fee).
The Advanced Course and Specialty Courses
If you have time, you may want to consider doing a specialty course as well. This is a great way to gain additional experience and skills with extra dives in a particular subject, eg Wreck Diving.
Each dive on the advanced course is the first dive of the specialty course. For example, the deep dive on the advanced course is the first dive of the Deep Diving specialty course. You can therefore continue with some more deep dives to obtain the Deep Diving Specialty.
More info about e-learning and Advanced Open Water Course:
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course online segment includes knowledge development for the two required topics; the Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dives, along with five of the most popular elective dives. These include Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck Diver, Boat Diver and Underwater Naturalist.
As with the PADI Open Water Diver course, the entire PADI Adventures in Diving manual (complete with all Adventure Dive possibilities) will be available online to divers enrolled in the course. Experience real adventure and be one step closer to Master Scuba Diver – the ultimate non-professional certification in recreational diving.
You need to be at least 12 years old, a certified entry-level diver and fit for diving to be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. Any certified entry-level diver who is at least 12 years old may enroll in the PADI eLearning Advanced Open Water Diver online program.
After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning® system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.
After completing the online segments, you will then conduct the five course Adventure Dives at Two Fish Divers.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Course online is $120 (US) nonrefundable. The fee covers the knowledge development training as well as unlimited access to the entire PADI Adventures in Diving manual online. The price of the course with us is reduced by approx. half of this fee.
The eLearning course will be available for one year from the time of course registration. Though you must finish the online portion of the course within that time frame, you will have perpetual access to the ebook version of the PADI Adventures in Diving manual.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course online will take approximately 8 hours to complete.
After surveying PADI Members around the world (particularly those who teach the most Advanced Open Water Diver courses), these dives were identified as the most popular. Your PADI Adventures in Diving manual ebook has the knowledge development segments of the additional Adventure Dives, should you choose to pursue them.
Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, your dive center is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program. At the end of the eLearning program, you can print out your eRecord and bring a copy of it with you when you visit us.
